Bryce is married!

FELIZ NATAL!

& feliz casamento Bryce.  Holey moley you´re married!  We had a party for you here in Brazil with pizza, lemonade and 17 Miracles.  I laughed a lot when I saw the pictures with my face cut out!  Brooks you are a good Brandyn. :) You´ll have to take a lot of pictures of temple square if you´re staying there for the night with all the lights.

Spiritual thought for the week is for Bryce:

And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is sealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and thekeys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto them—Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of theseeds forever and ever. - Doctrine & Covenants 132:19

That´s a good Christmas present!  I´m excited to talk with you all in a couple days.

See you soon!

Love,

I loved the Christmas devotional!

Oi familia!

It´s good to hear from you all - sounds like a super busy and fun Christmas. :)  That´s awesome Blake is doing the Madrigal.  Hope the spelling bee went well with the twins.  and Ben, That´s a good feeling too to be finished with football season.

This week was very good.  President Siedschlag will be coming this week to Sobral.  We´watched the Christmas devotional last week in Portuguese.  The Mormon Tabernacle choir gives me chills every time.  This Saturday we´ll be doing a missionary choir they asked me to lead for a stake activity.  I´m excited for Christmas.  Thank you for the package!  I had Elder Christie open it and take out all the essentials.  I´m waiting faithfully until Christmas to open the stocking.

Many miracles happen every day - I´m writing them in my journal to one day share.  I´ve learned so much on my mission.  I´m amazed it is flying by so fast.

Have a good week & happy holidays,

Staying here with Elder Boccia for this transfer

Querido familia,

Hope Thanksgiving was delicious!  Congrats Blake in your games.  I´m glad your back is starting to feel better.  Congrats too ben in all of your classes!  Holey moley you are taking some intense courses and still managing to get top grades.  What´s most deserving of congrats though is the stories I hear about keeping the sabbath day holy.  Testifying of the atonement (& quantum physics haha) to your friends and the twins always being good to mom.  & Bryce getting married in 3 weeks.  It still doesn´t seem real everyone is growing up so fast. :)

This week was the last week of the transfer!  I´ll be staying with Elder Boccia as my companion and still will be living here with Elder Christie and his new companion, Elder Cruz.  It has been fun the past couple weeks organizing activiteis in the church.  Elder Christie and I teach an eElglish class on Mondays and a piano class on Tuesdays.  Then Wednesday through Friday Elder Boccia and I teach Portuguese to a family not members in the afternoon.  I´m beginning to understand why President Packer expresses so often the importance and joy of teaching.  It is a neat experience to see a big change in others as an instrument in the hands of God.  I know we really are in the hands of God.  "All things have been done in the wisdom of Him who knoweth all things." (Alma)  Being in hthe hands of God means we are to be malleable.  O)ften it is only in extreme heat (sometimes literally :) that we can be molderd exactly as He´s designed.

“I am like a huge, rough stone … and the only polishing I get is when some corner gets rubbed off by coming in contact with something else, striking with accelerated force. … Thus I will become a smooth and polished shaft in the quiver of the Almighty” (Teachings of the ProphetJoseph Smith

All is well.  It´s been awesome to work with such good missionaries here.  I feel like I´ve known forever everyohn I´ve met as of yet.  The member here especially - there is a man that´s 68 years old who walks miles with us ion the hot sun to lessons because he loves doing missionary work.  And He loves the Savior.  I have never met a more passionate people than those I´ve come to know here in Brazil.

Have a good week!  Make sure you put up lots of lights. :)

Love,

Elder Young

Thanksgiving in Brazil

Love you too!

Hope you all have an awesome Thanksgiving.  It was fun getting the emails from Brooks and Braxton.  You guys are already 10!  Holey moley.  That´s  exciting about Brayden.  He´s going to love it.  I think that´s the same mission as where my Provo MTC companion lived.  Yes, the language is coming along really really well.  On fast Sunday I fasted for the ability to understand Portuguese better (to speak the language is easier for me) and ever since I have been able to understand almost everything.  The gift of tongues is real!  So real.

:) the pizza party in the CTM actually didn´t come because the mail didn´t get delivered in time to notify us.  Elder Christie though and his companion though are teaching a pizza guy so we get free pizza almost every night!

Good luck Blake in your tournament.  I´ve been praying & fasted that you´ll continue to get better.

It´s good to hear all is well; I would love someday to take you all to Brazil and meet the incredible families & pĂ©ople I´ve met here and in Las Vegas.  There´s nothing quite like a mission.  Life is good.  The packages should arrive pretty soon - next week is transfers, when they deliver the mail for the transfer.

Because of time this will be my letter for the week.  Love you all muitos!!

November 10th -Ben's birthday!!

Gutentag,

Happy birthday Ben!!

1st line of 100 Years. Holey moley you will be on a mission in 3!  Hope you have a good day.  If I could, I´d send you the Penguin happy birthday song Youtube video.

The past couple weeks have been very good ~ Janaina was baptized Saturday!  She is the twins´age and is the funniest kid - she still thinks Elder Christie and I are from Disney.  When I showed her dad a picture of us 6 boys he said "I love the Beatles." :)

The work here is very different than Las Vegas but Elder Christie is helping me adjust to the differences.  He also served a couple months in the states, in San Diego.  The only way I know how to describe Elder Christie is that he´s like Blake.  Very funny, happy, and always singing.

Our ward here (Junco) in Sobral is very strong.  I´m amazed at the strength of the youth here.  Many are the only members of the church in their families.  The same with many Brazilian missionaries here.  Elder ?Boccia is one of two active members in his family of 6.

A miracle that happened this week:

It was around 17 hours on Wednesday and we had a lot of people to see before the day was over.  Elder Boccia felt inspired, instead of visiting the people we had planned to visit, to return to our house to get some Sunday clothes for Joao, who was baptized two months ago.  While at our house, Elder Boccia packed 2 of his shirts and pants to give to Joao. We were helping him prepare to bless the sacrament that Sunday.  We went and brought the clothes to Joao.

There at Joao´s place was his friend Leandro.  After talking with him we found out he is a member but hasn´t been to church since he was 16 (he is 20).  It turned out the 2nd pair of clothes Elder Boccia packed was for Leandro. :)  He came to church that Sunday and has been coming ever since!

Last Tuesday we started a weekly piano class for people we are teaching and members of the ward and thier friends.  9 people came!  We brought all the pianos in the church to the chapel.  Four of those who came we are now teaching.

There is also an amazing lady, Narcin, from Ireland, who came here to help here son´s family who is going through a divorce.  Her husband is a member and they are still learning Portuguese.  We will start a Portuguese class Tuesdays as well before piano.

So many miracles! If I had time to share them all this email would be 20 pages long. I keep a video and written journal to try and remember all the experiences we´re having here.

It is amazing gift all of us have to be an instrument in the hands of God.  I´m grateful for this opportunity God´s given me to stretch myself beyond what I thought possible to help His children.  I know He lives.  I know He loves us with infinite love.

Love you all!  Mosiah 23:10

Monday November 17th

Aloha!

This week flew by quick!  I think it was yesterday I was sitting in this same seat typing an email. :). Life is good. It´s amazing how much a mission teaches you.  I´ve learned many things here in the environment of the mission field that couldn~t have learned anywhere else. portugeuse is comingalong- weare teaching a couple-Narcin &Fransisco from Ireland howto speak portuguese & it has helpedme alot to study with them .  I´ve learned deeper thistruthánalogy

As you and I develop additional love, patience, and meekness, the more we have to give God and humanity. Moreover, no one else is placed exactly as we are in our opportune human orbits. - Neal A Maxwell

Each of us are where we are as we are for a reason.
all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things. -2 Nephi 2:24

Many miracles in our lives happen because we are in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.

I know Jesus Christ lives. He is our Savior.  He loves us infinitely.

Love you all!
